BAD RELIGION - Florence 2018

“Bad Religion is a surrealist film that takes a twist on the

Greek myth Pygmalion and Galatea. It explores the boundaries of

sexuality and desire by following the unrequited love

between a man and a sculpture. The man is able to love

and admire the figure that cannot love him back. His

emotions cause him to praise something that knows

nothing - emotions that the man cannot help but feel. It is

here where his torture lies. As a result of the man’s

persistent admiration for the moon goddess, the sculpture

comes to life. The sculpture’s emotions then defines the

man’s fate. If love wasn’t reciprocated by the lifeless

figure, would his new breath of life ignite something or will

he decay in a religion for a man that cannot see him?”
